Description of Central Library (Full Edition) R1:
The “Central Library” system provide four different storage systems for the modern business and even for your home:- Document Store, to store your electronic documents, allow them to be distributed and revised, and retrieve any version of any document at any time. User can chose the Document Release number. Individual files can be assigned versions. Only the specific checked-out user can save (“check in”) a new release of the document. Log Book, to maintain a log for each project, task. or dispute. It is useful for storing copies of e-mails, sketches, memos and faxes. At home, it can store copies of all your Utility bills, either all in one Log Book, or using a separate Log Book for each utility. Helps satisfy legislative requirements for demonstrating “due diligence” in engineering and business practice. Provides an audit trail of when, how and why decisions came to be made the way they were. Publisher, to distribute documents and software to a wider audience. It is ideal where a small team of professionals distributed their work to a wider audience, such as software developers distributing desktop software to the company, a medical “best practice” committee distributing their findings to a hospital, or internal newsletter distribution. Many different files can be stored and retrieved as a single entity. User can chose the Document Release number. Individual files can be assigned versions. A list of source files can be referenced. Issue Manager, to manage and resolve problems. Typically, an internal customer would highlight a problem with a product or procedure by raising an Issue. Or at home, This would be automatically notified to the “owner” of that product or procedure, who would then assign it to an individual or group to process it. Often members of the group are in different parts of the country, but (for the Server Edition) this is no barrier to communication. Any amount of text can be entered for notes. References can be listed, whether the names of files or of bibliography. The current state is maintained (“New”, “Assigned”...). The Priority (Urgent, Trivial, ...) and Severity are listed. The Affected Product and the Assignee (the person to whom the work is assigned) are listed. For all storage systems... Many different files can be stored and retrieved as a single document. Individual attached files can be viewed, or the whole set downloaded.
